Overall, this set is Shattered Glass “done right”, using the mirror universe concept as a springboard to offer fans some great new versions of the Generation 1 toys. They are great redecos of the cassettes who stand alone, apart from the whole Shattered Glass theme, and just look great. The cassettes, meanwhile, look phenomenally cool in their new decos, from Ratbat’s Batman inspired colors to the red and white on Rewind.
The individual figures have some sharp decos – Soundwave looks excellent in white, and Blaster’s “evil” deco really works with the mold especially with the way the head and face is realized. The BBTS Exclusive Soundwave is limited to only 300 pieces, so act fast as pre. The set also adds Solarbot, a new character from the Rewind mold who features clear plastic.
